Voluntary Norfolk
Voluntary Norfolk is an umbrella organisation working to support volunteers and voluntary groups across the county. Hamiltons recently undertook the organisation's move from a three floor central Norwich office building to larger premises, also in a three floor building within the city. Reasons for Voluntary Norfolk's business relocation included moving to a better position for its customers, with improved facilities, while the move was also helpful in financial terms.

. As well as moving a large quantity of office furniture and equipment from one premises to another, an added complication was that there was no lift in the old building. Our team helped with dismantling and reassembling office furniture and clearing waste from the garage at the old location, as well as setting up priority items fast at the new premises.

The move involved the transfer of 40 workstations and computers , together with additional training laptops and printers (Hamiltons specialises in moving all kinds of IT equipment, using custom-designed vehicles and packaging materials). General office equipment, such as desks and filing cabinets, also needed to be moved. For this client, a very important factor in choosing Hamiltons to carry out the removals was our packing and unpacking service, as this saved them invaluable time and effort and helping to minimise disruption. Having crates available both in advance of the move and for some time afterwards helped to ensure this aspect of the move went smoothly.

Property and construction consultancy firm AECOM , formerly Davis Langdon, has been in Norwich for more than 60 years. The company recently moved from its old offices into a more efficient unit in the city's new business quarter. The new premises will have better facilities and are also in a better location for customers. Better transport links were another reason for the move, while the fact that the previous lease had expired helped to make this the time right for a corporate relocation.

A total of 31 staff were involved in the company relocation. Items included in the office furniture removal included general office equipment, such as filing cabinets, although no desks needed to be moved.
