Removals to South East England
Hamiltons carry out regular removals to the South East of England, encompassing London, the coastal counties of Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and the inland counties of Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
Moving to South East England
Despite a high cost of living, London and the South East continues to attract many people to move here every year, either to study, find work or even retire.
As a whole, the region encompasses both cosmopolitan city living and a choice of rural or coastal retreats, so that we have a wide range of clients moving to the South East for different purposes: from graduates just starting out on their career, to families looking for a better work/life balance, and retirees seeking a warmer climate and more scenic surroundings.
London
London continues to be an international centre of excellence for many traditional professions such as medicine and law, and is also considered the "place to be" for newer, high paced industries such as the media, advertising, design, fashion, IT and, of course, financial services.
An extensive and growing tube and rail network in and around the capital means that it is feasible to live a significant distance from the centre of the city in the many surrounding outer London boroughs such as Enfield to the north, Sutton to the south, Havering to the east and Hounslow to the west, and still have a reasonable journey time into work. And for those already in established careers, a move to London can mean a significant uplift in salary compared to wages in other regions.
For many people seeking removals to the South East, the move will be out of London and into one of the many counties surrounding the capital, offering more affordable property prices while maintaining all the advantages of being close to the city. Hamiltons can help people moving home to or from London, to anywhere within the UK.
Coastal - Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight
Moving to the South East coast is a dream held by many, and its relative proximity to London via road or rail means that many aspire to relocate out of the capital and commute, or to retire here later in life.
On the coast itself are many desirable towns in which to settle, from Ramsgate and Deal in Kent, Eastbourne and Brighton in East Sussex, Worthing in West Sussex, Gosport in Hampshire and not forgetting the Isle of Wight, just an hour's ferry ride from Southampton. Journey times to these places are well within commuting range, with Brighton around an hour away from central London.
However, these counties have much more to offer than seaside resorts. Close links to London - with a number of motorways such as the M27, M23, M20 and M2 - means that there are many major businesses in the region and several significant towns including Canterbury, Maidstone, Farnborough and Basingstoke, all offering a good economy, easy travel into London for entertainment and cultural activities, as well as access to some of England's best countryside in the form of the South Downs.
Inland - Surrey, Oxfordshire, Berks, Bucks, Beds and Herts
The inland counties of the South East offer a diverse blend of rural countryside, historic cities and market towns, as well as a good mixture of globally established companies and locally grown entrepreneurial activity.
Just to the south of London lies Surrey, with several popular commuter towns lying inside the M25, such as Epsom and Esher, and many more within easy reach of the city, including Dorking, Woking, Leatherhead and the county town of Guildford. Unsurprisingly, Surrey is one of the most affluent counties in the UK and many global names have their headquarters here including Nikon, Samsung, Esso and Toyota.
Berkshire, lying to the west of London is home to England's so-called "Silicon Valley", with Reading, Newbury and Bracknell attracting large numbers of IT professionals to work for a many well known names including Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco and Ericsson, as well as innumerable high-tech start-ups.
Further to the north is Oxfordshire, site of Britain's oldest University in the city of Oxford, and the ancient market towns of Banbury and Bicester. To the east are Buckinghamshire, which hosts the new town of Milton Keynes, and Bedfordshire, in which lie Bedford, the county town, and Luton, home to London's fourth largest airport.
Finally, Hertfordshire is the location for a number of thriving towns including Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City. Despite being so close to London and well served by transport links including the M40, M1, A1, M11, these counties have more than their fair share of stunning scenery, in particular the Chiltern Hills which span all four counties.
Hamiltons offer a high quality removal service for moves within the UK and abroad, including removals to all parts of South East England. Please call us for a quote.
