Removals to West Wales

Removals to West Wales

West Wales is well known for is scenery, with its dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches. This makes it increasingly popular with tourists and those who are planning removals to the area for a new beginning. If you are considering a move to West Wales and are unsure who to contact, at Hamiltons Removals we have an excellent reputation in our field. We are able to help you move to all parts of the country including Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest, Aberaeron, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Swansea Bay and Newport, among many other destinations.

Moving to West Wales
The beauty of the region is a huge appeal for people moving here, alongside a variety of other draws such as better healthcare, cheaper housing and a more relaxed lifestyle in general. Transport links are another consideration. For example, if you are moving from Birmingham or Wolverhampton to Aberystwyth, the largest town in the area, the drive will take you around four hours, which will mean you are still within easy reach of friends and family.

Better Healthcare
The NHS in Wales spends an average of £100 more on each person than the NHS in England does, with free prescriptions, hospital parking and more care for each person. This serves to reassure you that help is always at hand. This is also a good reason to move to West Wales if you are a doctor, as although they have better healthcare, there is a shortage of GPs so job opportunities may be available in the area.

Cheaper Housing
With house prices averaging at a good £100,000 under what you could expect to pay in England, it's understandable why many people are moving to West Wales. Many of these houses have stunning views and interiors for just a fraction of what you could expect to pay in England. For large families in particular you can get much more for your money, and each member of the family can enjoy much more space in the house.

Beautiful Scenery
Swansea's Rhossili Bay was voted the third-best beach in Europe by Tripadvisor, beating opposition from Greece and Sardinia. It went on to be further voted as the 9th best beach in the world, showing how incredibly gorgeous it is. This is also a lovely place to live if you have dogs, as it was voted the UK's most dog friendly beach. West Wales is also home to many scenic castles, which is a plus for history lovers.

West Wales Districts

Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire has a population of 122,400, with English being the main language for many locals. The county is home to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a stunning national park with no others of its kind in the United Kingdom. Pembrokeshire is defined as a maritime county as it is bordered by sea on three sides. This is one of the main reasons for why it is so popular with tourists, with its lovely sandy dunes and bays.

The county is ideal for active families, with a 186 mile walking trail through the national park, and with a huge variety of beach and watersports to take part in. You can even discover the thrill of horse riding beside the sea whilst living here. When walking along the coast you might be lucky enough to spot dolphins – and boat trips can be taken to see both whales and dolphins at close range!

Carmarthenshire
Carmarthenshire has luscious plants and flowers due to its fertile land, and for this reason it is known as the "Garden of Wales". Here you can find the National Botanical Garden of Wales, which is showcases the fantastic nature found in Wales. Once again, this county is ideal for active people as it is perfect for exploring by foot. With places to visit from nature reserves to ancient castles, you'll never run out of things to do. Among the popular activities is to take one of the many scheduled walks through mountains, rivers and meadows to explore the unspoiled beauty of this county.

The Heart of Wales Railway takes you on one of the most scenic routes in Britain, travelling from Swansea to Shrewsbury. The journey takes you via Llanelli, then up to the Amman Valley coalfields, into the farming country of the Towy Valley, through the mountain tunnel in the Sugar Loaf, and onto Powys. For lovers of beautiful scenery, Carmarthenshire is a picture perfect place to move to.

Swansea
Home to Wales' Premier League football team, Swansea City, this region is one of the UK's best locations for walking, cycling, water sports and golf. Mumbles and Gower have a strong surf culture, however this has not been commercialised compared to other UK destinations and so has retained an authentic surfing experience. Rhossili Bay is ideal for families with young children, with a whole host of activities to experience as they grow up. You can go coasteering along the Worm's Head and learn to surf at Llangennith, where there are small waves for learners to begin on.

The village of Mumbles is a quiet place consisting of intimate pubs, coffee shops and ice cream parlours, where you can enjoy a laid back pace. This is perfect for people wishing to retire, as you can enjoy both the beautiful views and the relaxed atmosphere at the same time.
